I'm looking for a Consul Report from February 1960:Mexico to Washington DC

    Newbie

I have a copy of Seymour B. Liebman’s “The Jews in New Spain..” On page 292, last paragraph, first sentence, it states: “An American consul in February, 1960, in his ‘Post Report’ from Monterrey to Washington D.C., named fifteen of the prominent families who had Jewish ancestors….”

Can you help me find and get a copy of the Feb 1960 Post Report?  If not, do you know where I should start?

      Thank you.

      Ricardo

          Dear Ricardo,

Thank you for your post.  We conducted a preliminary search of the Source Card Index for the records of the Department of State 1960-63; however, we didn’t locate a card that matches this report.  It is possible that a copy exists, but it will require a more detailed search.   This type of record could be in the Department’s central file or there may be a copy in the post file from Monterrey.  Please respond to this post if you have any additional information.
