Thank you for contacting the History Hub!
There are several Mississippi River museums that may be interested in your grandfather’s photographs such as the National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium in Dubuque, Iowa; the Mississippi River Museum in Memphis, Tennessee; and the Lower Mississippi River Museum in Vicksburg, Mississippi.
We hope this information is helpful and that you will be able to find a home for his photographs.

To add to that list of great museums I would add the Mercantile Library, specifically the Herman T. Pott National Inland Waterways Library of the Mercantile Library. The Mercantile has been collecting items since 1846 and have been collecting Mississippi River-related items since 1985. I've volunteered with them and have had great experiences with the staff there. Good luck with finding a home for your grandfather's collection!
