Re: I am looking for information on the "Marriage" of my paternal grandparents, Sarolta Katinka Von Szendeffy (born 1911 in Budapest, Hungary) and Slayden "Jack" Hellar (born 1903 in Wichita, Kansas).

3 people found this helpfulThe National Archive is the repository for Federal Records so we do not have marriage records. Since it’s unknown where the marriage occurred, that does make the search a bit more complicated. It sounds like you’re already knowledgeable about online sources for these types of records but we searched Family Search’s County Marriages and Western State Marriage Index just in case and did not find anything on their marriage. If they were married in Mexico City, Family Search has Civil Registration records online through 1941 but they are not fully indexed. Online resources for these types of records are growing all the time. Scanning and indexing records from repositories around the world is continuing every day. I would say keep looking at online resources such as Ancestry and Family Search and hopefully something further about your paternal grandparents will reveal itself.

Link to the following URL for the webpage. Unfortunately, the source of this info is not listed:

Have you tried to get the divorce paperwork? Sometimes there is better information in that paperwork as it comes directly from at least one of the two involved people. I have found divorce files to be a wealth of information for my own family history research.
Good luck.
