Looking for railroad accident report from 1925

I'm looking to see if a railroad accident report still exists from 1925. My great grandmothers brother, William M Brennan, was killed on the Belt Railway of Chicago on April 5, 1925. On his death certificate he also has an alias noted: J D Burns. Looking for any info on this accident.

We searched the National Archives Catalog and located the series Railroad Accident Investigation Reports, 1911-1963 in the Records of the Interstate Commerce Commission (Record Group 134), which may include a report for the accident you are interested in. The reports consist of the official file copies of carrier accident investigation reports and are arranged in chronological order. Also, these reports detail the investigation of major accidents involving significant damage to railroad equipment, consequently not every accident was investigated. The ICC did not investigate individual railroad accidents before 1911. Please contact the National Archives at College Park - Textual Reference (RR2R) at archives2reference@nara.gov for access to these non-digitized records.

These reports also are available online via the U.S. Department of Transportation Library website that is searchable and includes the full-text version of many of the numbered ICC railroad accident investigation reports from 1911 to 1994.

Hi William

I looked in the Chicago period papers for a mention of the accident but the only mention I could find was this small blurb

I'm having trouble posting a reply here since the migration - trying to attach a small blurb from the newspaper (without success). Will see if this goes through & then will try again.

Not much in the newspaper- really just a mention of his death.
