Seeking Naturalization Records for Giuseppe (Joseph) DeAngelis

Seeking Naturalization Records for Giuseppe (Joseph) DeAngelis. I found on a Ship Manifest (25 Dec 1924), that his records were from the Superior Court of Fayetteville, May 8, 1922, Residence Ft Bragg, NC. Also listed on the Manifest (but can't tell if it is his or not) a Naturalization #, N. 1465173. (I think from the Court in Pittsburgh, PA? (although this might be for the person listed above him?). The naturalization number is not for Joseph, but for Euclide Conti. It is written on the last page of his Pittsburg petition.

Joseph's passport is found in U.S., Passport Applications, 1795-1925 on Ancestry.com. He was naturalized May 8, 1922 in Cumberland County (Fayetteville) Superior Court. There is a lot of info given on the passport, including a photo.

A FamilySearch catalog search for Cumberland County, North Carolina Superior Court naturalization records shows they have a gap for the years you need. Ancestry doesn't seem to have them, either. You would need to track down who has them.

We suggest that you start your research by contacting the Judge E. Maurice Braswell Cumberland County Courthouse and the State Archives of North Carolina to request information about the availability of these records.

If you can not get the required information through these resources, you can contact the USCIS Genealogy Program to request his Certificate File (C-File). A basic C-File contains the Declaration of Intention, Petition for Naturalization, and Certificate of Naturalization.
