          Dear Ms. Rubra,

Thank you for sharing your question with the History Hub.

Based on a quick internet search, it looks like the 12th Field Artillery Regiment has a complicated history. Battery B of the 12th Field Artillery eventually became part of the 2nd Infantry Division and was redesignated Battery B of the 12th Field Artillery Battalion in 1940.

We searched the finding aids of the WWII Operations Reports in the Records of the Adjutant General’s Office (Record Group 407), and located several files relating to the 12th Field Artillery Battalion, 2nd Infantry Division. For more information about these records or to order reproductions, please contact the Textual Reference Branch at Archives II in College Park, MD via their email address (archives2reference@nara.gov).

Also, the U.S. Army Military History Institute at the Army Heritage & Education Center (950 Soldiers Drive, Carlisle, PA 17013) has a large collection of published unit histories. Their web site is http://www.ahco.army.mil/site/index.jsp.

Thank you, again, for posting  your question to the History Hub, and good luck with your ongoing search!
