Thank you for sharing your question with the History Hub.
The records you are interested in are most likely part of the series Personal Papers of Medical Officers and Physicians, ca. 1861-1912 (PI-17 561; NAID 655782) from National Archives’ Record Group 94: Records of the Adjutant General's Office [AGO], 1962-1984. The series includes a file for "Goldsmith, M., 1861-66" (NAID 2090670).
You also may be interested in the series Letters Received, 1818-1889 (NM-20 12; NAID 6563228), which is part of National Archives’ Record Group 112: Records of the Office of the Surgeon General (Army), and may include correspondence from Goldsmith.
Both of these series are in the custody of the Textual Reference Archives I Branch. If you have questions about these records, please email them directly at archives1reference@nara.gov.
Thank you, again, for submitting your inquiry to the History Hub, and good luck with your continued research.
