Thank you for posting your question to the History Hub.
Just to confirm, is this the Catalogue of Official A.E.F. Photographs you are referring to? If so, then the American Expeditionary Forces photographs you are looking for would have been taken by the Signal Corps. If the photographs listed in the catalog are held at the National Archives, then they would most likely be part of Record Group 111 Records of the Office of the Chief Signal Officer.
The National Archives’ photographic holdings are in the custody of the Still Pictures Branch at the National Archives in College Park, Maryland (Archives II). You can find out more about their records in this Guide to the Still Picture Branch Holdings, and you can also contact their reference staff directly at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please provide as much information as possible (e.g. catalog information, photograph number) when you contact them. If the photograph of your family member is among our holdings, the the Still Pictures staff should be able to help you locate it and provide you with further information about obtaining a reproduction.
Thank you, again, for sharing your question with the History Hub, and good luck with your ongoing search.
