The National Archives does not appraise or look at privately owned documents or artifacts. To find an appraiser in your area, you may wish to contact the ABAA (Antiquarian Booksellers Association of America). Good luck!

Donna Stone Feb 9, 2018 8:45 AM (in response to Kelly Osborn)Thank you for responding. I want to know if it is rare because if it is I do not want to keep it. I teach American History and i would be willing to give it to the National Archives. If it is not I am going to keep it to enjoy.

2 people found this helpfulDear Ms. Stone,
The National Archives is the repository of the records of the U.S. Federal Government. NARA does not collect rare books or other items such as what you have unless it is directed related to Federal records.
We suggest that you offer your etching collection to either the Library of Congress or other repository. A search of the Internet indicates that the Indiana Historical Society has a collection of Forbes etchings. They may be interested in your collection.
We hope this information is helpful. Best of luck with your project!
