2 people found this helpfulI couldn't find anything from an authoritative source, but anecdotally from looking at several genealogy forums. It appears that "PB" does indicate a private baptism, done at home when an infant wasn't expected to survive. If the child lived, a formal baptism would then be performed at a church.
