Seeking General Orders, HQ, Seventh Army

    Dave Kerr Adventurer

Can you please tell me how many General Orders were issued by HQ, Seventh Army, in each of these years: 1943, 1944 and 1945 in 107-1.13, RG 407. Could you also provide the box numbers, which will assist me on my next visit to College Park. Thank you.

          Dear Mr. Kerr,

Thank you for posting your request on History Hub!

We searched the National Archives Catalog and located the World War II Operations Reports, 1940-1948 in the Records of the Adjutant General's Office, 1917 - 1985 (Record Group 407) that includes the general orders (GOs) of the 7th Army during WWII. See below for the number of GOs per year and the container:

          • GO 1-42 (1943) in Box 2121
          • GO 1-138 (1944) in Box 2121, and
          • GO 1-690 (1945) in Boxes 2121 - 2122

For information about and access to these non-digitized records, please contact the National Archives at College Park - Textual Reference (RDT2) via email at archives2reference@nara.gov.
