I looked up the Enumeration District for my families confirmed address and it is not listed on the 1950 census.
Steps I've taken:
Not only was it not listed on the census report, it was also not the sheets numbered 71 or higher for follow up to 'not at home' residents.
Confirmed neighbors on both sides of address are on the census report.
Confirmed the street name has not changed.
Looked thru neighboring ED sheets and address is not there.
Do I have any other options or is it possible they were just missed? Maybe they weren't home and didn't respond to the postcard left requesting the information? I thought all addresses would be noted on the sheets at the time they were being filled out though?
I must be missing something. Suggestions please.
Thank you!
Bren C: If the address existed in 1950, the enumerator should have noted it. In most places, odd addresses are on one side of the street and even addresses are on the other side of the street. The enumerator walked down one side of the street at a time, so you will see odd addresses together on one (or more) sheets and even addresses together one one (or more) sheets. Or perhaps in a different Enumeration District if the street as an Enumeration District boundary. See 1950 Census: Field Enumeration Procedures for more information.
