    Seeking records of USCGC ACUSHNET

      Process to obtain copy of USCGC ACUSHNET Ships Log, Patrol Summary, and Plan of the Day for period 01/01/1989 to 07/31/1989. I am trying to document incident that occured onboard ship while I was a crewmember of US Coast Guard Cutter ACUSHNET (WMEC-167).

          We searched the National Archives Catalog and located the Vessel Logs and Logbooks, 1971 - 1998 in the Records of the U.S. Coast Guard (Record Group 26) but  were unable to locate any records of the USCGC Acushnet (WMEC-167) for 1989. These records may still be in the custody of the Coast Guard.
