I would also suggest checking out the inquiries page of the Marine Corps History Division here:

Navy deck logs may not show the embarkation of specific MEU units such as MSSG-22; however, the Marines may have documents that show the assignment of such units to the different ships within the Amphibious Ready Group (ARG).
