Seeking records of birth parents of Thomas Williams

Few births were recorded by civil authorities before 1853 in Virginia (it actually was not required until 1896). You may find documentation of births, and deaths in published genealogies, local histories, church records, and personal papers such as family Bibles. We also suggest that you contact the Library of Virginia, which has custody of many historic records from the colonial period in Virginia. These collections include wills and estate records from as early as 1633 and Family Bible records that may contain useful information.
