Seeking passenger list that includes Kalman Besman

I am seeking a ship manifest that lists Kalman Besman. Census records for 1920 through 1940 show he immigrated in 1913 from Odessa, then part of Russia. I have been unable to locate him on any passenger lists. I assume he came through NY, since he lived in NJ all his life. Any advice appreciated.

There was a good reason that you could not find him, if you did not know his surname in Russia. I found his naturalization record, which gave me his surname (Bezpozwany).
By playing with variations of this surname, I was able to find the arrival of Kalman on 1 Mar 1913 on the SS Campanello and then Ida and the 2 children on 20 Aug 1913 on the SS President Grant.

  Susannah, What you have found is phenomenal! Can you tell me please where you found the naturalization record? I have others I want to find, but I've looked on Ancestry and FamilySearch without success.

    I found it on familysearch.org using the catalog (search New Jersey, then naturalization) New Jersey, County Naturalization Records, 1749-1986 • FamilySearch. There are several other sets of New Jersey naturalization records that you can search beginning with the same search on the site.

      I am also looking for my grandfather. When I put his name, Samuel Gaizband, into that same search page, it turns up nothing.
      
      I have his Petition volume and number from his certificate of naturalization. Is there any way to search with that?

        The petition number and volume would probably help find his naturalization. As of the 1930 census, he still had only filed his first papers (declaration of intent). 1930 United States Federal Census - Ancestry.com
        I did find his arrival in NY on the SS Graf Waldersee 22 Jun 1907. His name on the passenger list was Salmen Grysband. Ancestry.com - New York, U.S., Arriving Passenger and Crew Lists (including Castle Garden and Ellis Island), 1820-1957. He departed Hamburg on 8 Jun 1907. He is #213 on the list and his surname looks more like Geysband to me. Hamburg Passenger Lists, 1850-1934 - Ancestry.com.
