We searched the National Archives Catalog and located the series Field Experiment Final Evaluation Files, 1971 - 1972 in the Records of the Army Staff (Record Group 319) that contains the file unit 232-08 Vietnam, LAPES [Low Altitude Parachute Extraction System] (71) and may have pertinent information to the development of the LAPES system. We also located the series Expediting Non-Standard Urgent Requirements for Equipment (ENSURE) Item Case Files, 1965 - 4/1972 in the Records of the U.S. Forces in Southeast Asia (Record Group 472) that contains the file unit 1305-01/E-123 Parachute System (lapes). The 109th Quartermaster Company and the 383rd Quartermaster Company assisted in the development and testing of LAPES. We located the series Quartermaster Unit Records, ca. 1965 - ca. 1972 in Record Group 472 that includes unit records for the 109th Quartermaster Company in Boxes 17-19. We also located the series Organizational History Files, 1959 - 1973 in the Records of the U.S. Army, Pacific (Record Group 550) that includes the file unit titled Unit Histories: 109th Quartermaster Company.
