Seeking information on William Maurice Carrigan

    Ava Montes Wayfarer

Bill Carrigan served as an American Red Cross field director in Africa and Italy during WWII. I know the ARC is a non-military service, so there may not be records of him in the NARA, but Carrigan did work directly with the soldiers overseas, providing relief aid, transportation, tours, and other humanitarian work. I believe he was there from 1943-1945.

I would like to obtain records of his service -- transportation of G.I.'s, flights made (if any), company movements, orders or recommendations he may have received via the military, photographs, flight or ship log reports of his travels, etc.

Can this be found? If the National Archives do not hold historical articles from the ARC and this question is unrelated to what can be provided, I apologize!
