Seeking deck logs for USNS Comfort (T-AH 20)

    Marcus Franklin Newbie

Looking for deck logs from 2000-2003, specifically the logs pertaining to the visit to NYC after 9/11 (Operation Noble Eagle) and then the time in the Arabian Gulf for Operation Iraqi Freedom.

          Dear Mr. Franklin,

We searched the National Archives Catalog and located numerous records related to Operation Noble Eagle in the early 2000s in various record groups. Many of these records have been digitized and can be viewed online using the Catalog. For access to the non-digitized records, please contact the NARA reference unit listed in each Catalog description.

Due to the continued impact of COVID-19, you may experience a delay in receiving an initial acknowledgment as well as a substantive response to your reference request from various NARA reference units.  We apologize for this inconvenience and appreciate your understanding and patience as we balance mission-critical work and the safety of our staff during the pandemic. Please check NARA’s web page about COVID-19 updates for the latest information.

Finally, for access to U.S. Navy deck logs dated after 1983, please write to the Ships Deck Logs Section, Naval History and Heritage Command (NHHC), 805 Kidder Breese Street, SE, Washington Navy Yard, Washington, DC 20374-5060 or contact them via email at archives@navy.mil.  For more information see their web page Deck Log Access.

We hope this is helpful. Best of luck with your research!
