          Dear Mr. Boyer,

Thank you for posting your request on History Hub!

We searched the National Archives Catalog and located 3 series related to the Naval Attaché in Oslo, Norway in the 1950s in the Records of the Naval Intelligence Command (Record Group 289) that may include some relevant information for 1953-1954. We also located the series Publication Files, 1940-1954 of the Office of Naval Intelligence in the Records of the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations (Record Group 38) that contains some information related to Norway. These records have not been digitized. Please contact the National Archives at College Park - Textual Reference (RDT2) at archives2reference@nara.gov for assistance with these and similar records.

Next, we located 8 series related to Norway in the 1950s in the Records of the Foreign Service Posts of the United States (Record Group 84) that might contain some relevant information. These records have not been digitized. Please contact RDT2 with questions about these records.

Due to the continued impact of COVID-19, you may experience a delay in receiving an initial acknowledgment as well as a substantive response to your reference request from RDT2.  We apologize for this inconvenience and appreciate your understanding and patience as we balance mission-critical work and the safety of our staff during the pandemic. Please check NARA’s web page about COVID-19 updates for the latest information.

Finally, we suggest that you contact the Naval History and Heritage Command for additional assistance.
