Thanks for the links. I will reach out to the folks at Marine University.
Dear Mr. Walker,
Thank you for posting your request on History Hub!
We searched the National Archives Catalog and located the Records of Ground Combat Units, Support Units and Other Commands, 1939 - 1950; the Records Relating to World War II Organizations, Plans, and Military Operations (documenting 1913 - 1946); and the Records Relating to United States Marine Corps Operations in World War II, 1939 - 1949 in the Records of the U.S. Marine Corps (Record Group 127) that may have records concerning the 1st Marine Division and the 1st Marine Regiment during these operations. Information concerning specific companies and battalions may be incorporated into regimental and division level records. For more information about these non-digitized records, please contact the National Archives at College Park - Textual Reference (RDT2) via email at Archives2reference@nara.gov.
Due to the continued impact of COVID-19, you may experience a delay in receiving an initial acknowledgment as well as a substantive response to your reference request from RDT2. We apologize for this inconvenience and appreciate your understanding and patience as we balance mission-critical work and the safety of our staff during the pandemic. Please check NARA’s web page about COVID-19 updates for the latest information.
Lastly, we suggest that you contact the Marine Corps History Division.
We hope this is helpful. Best of luck with your research!
