Seeking records of Company F, 8th Infantry

    Lorraine Thomas Newbie

My grandfather served in Company F, 8th Infantry during WW1. Any information available on this division? Would there be ANY photos from that period? I have his service number (R4195590)- He departed from Antwerp, Belgium on 4 Feb 1920 (Rank is listed as Private). He ended up in the Veterans Hospital in Roxbury, Massachusetts and drowned behind the hospital in 1928. I found an article in The Boston Globe as verification that this event occurred. This event left my father an orphan (taken from his mother due to her disability from Polio.) Through years of research I have discovered his identity but have NOT been able to obtain whereabouts of his gravesite. I sent for military records but received nothing regarding his demise or burial.
