We searched the National Archives Catalog and located the Law Case Files, 1863 - 1934; Law Docket Books, 3/24/1863 - 12/15/1938; Index to Civil Cases and Dockets, 9/16/1938 - 1978, Civil Docket Books, 9/16/1938 - 12/31/1986, and Civil Case Files, 1938 - 2001 in the Records of District Courts of the United States (Record Group 21) that includes records related to cases of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia and its predecessor, the Supreme Court of the District of Columbia. These records have not been digitized. At present, the research room at the National Archives in Washington, DC, is closed due to an increase in COVID-19 cases in Washington, DC. Once public health conditions improve and NARA is able to reopen the research room, the website will be updated with additional information. Research rooms will open on a limited basis and by appointment only. You must have a virtual consultation before the on-site visit.
