Battle Damage report to an admiral.

    Justin Robison Newbie

To anyone who can help me,

I am attempting to locate a response to a battle damage report from a ship that reported a lot of damage and the Admiral's response was "Understood.  You have the Chief's Mess.  Carry on with the mission."  Or something to that effect.

I appreciate any help anyone can give.

          Dear Mr. Rubison,

Thank you for posting your request on History Hub!

Typically speaking, these types of communications are not retained as permanent records, though under specific circumstances such as evidence being presented in a court martial or a record of a communication being submitted in lieu of a proper action report, they might be retained. However, without any information about dates, the names of the officers involved, the names of the ships involved, or anything else that might help us narrow down the inquiry, it is impossible to recommend specific records that may be responsive.

          We hope this is helpful.
