We searched the National Archives Catalog and located Bounty-Land Warrant Application Files, ca. 1790 - ca. 1900 in the Records of the Department of Veterans Affairs (Record Group 15) that include application files submitted by Adam Calhoon or Adam Calhoun based on service between 1790 and 1855. For more information about the non-digitized records, please email the National Archives at Washington, DC - Textual Reference (RDT1) at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We also located the series Indexes to the Carded Records of Soldiers Who Served in Volunteer Organizations During the War of 1812 in the Records of the Adjutant General's Office, 1762 - 1917 (Record Group 94) that include a card for Calhoon, Adam - State: Virginia - Regiment: Major Woodford's Squadron, Cavalry, Virginia Militia. This card has been digitized and is available using the Catalog. In addition, we located the series Carded Records Showing Military Service of Soldiers Who Fought in Volunteer Organizations During the War of 1812 in the Records of the Adjutant General's Office, 1762 - 1917 (Record Group 94) that should include a file for Adam Calhoon. Although some of these records have been digitized, his file has not. For more information about the non-digitized records, please email RDT1.
