I am looking for information on Buffalo Creek reservation in Western New York, especially for signatories of Buffalo Creek reservation treaties?

          Dear Mr. Streif,

Thank you for posting your request on History Hub!

We searched the National Archives Catalog and located the series Indian Treaties, 1789-1869 in the General Records of the United States Government (Record Group 11) that contains 24 files related to Buffalo Creek. We also located the series Letters Received, 1824-1880  in the Records of the Bureau of Indian Affairs (Record Group 75) that contains 9 files related to Buffalo Creek. These records have been digitized and may be viewed online using the Catalog.

Next, we located 5 series related to the Treaty of Buffalo Creek in Record Group 75 that may contain some relevant information. These records have not been digitized. Please contact the National Archives at Washington, D.C. - Textual Reference (RDT1) at archives1reference@nara.gov for access to and information about these records.

As a result of this re-prioritization of activities, you may experience a delay in receiving an initial acknowledgement as well as a substantive response to your reference request from RDT1. We apologize for this inconvenience and appreciate your understanding and patience.

Finally, we suggest that you review our website for more information about Native American Treaties.

We hope this information is helpful. Best of luck with your research!
