Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and pursuant to guidance received from the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), NARA has adjusted its normal operations to balance the need of completing its mission-critical work while also adhering to the recommended social distancing for the safety of NARA staff. As a result of this re-prioritization of activities, you may experience a delay in receiving an initial acknowledgement as well as a substantive response to your reference request from RDSS, RDSC and RDT2.
We hope this is helpful. Best of luck with your research!
There is an elevated shot of Boxer’s starboard side from the bow on page 447 of Waldemar Trojca’s “Essex Class Carriers in WW II: Technical and Operational History” (Model Hobby: Katowice, Poland 2011). The caption says the date is September 1945. Boxer is shown underway being used as an aircraft transport with a load of PBYs along with some of the aircraft of her air group. She is shown in Measure 21.
I hope you find this information helpful.
