Dear Ms. Sebren,
Thank you for posting your request on History Hub!
We searched the National Archives Catalog and located the series Annuity Payment Rolls, 1841 - 1949 in the Records of the Bureau of Indian Affairs (Record Group 75) that may include annuity records of the Leech Lake Band. For more information about these non-digitized records, please contact the National Archives at Washington, DC - Textual Reference (RDT1) at email@example.com. You may be interested in this previous History Hub post regarding the Minnesota Chippewa annuity rolls.
We also located the series Decimal Correspondence Files, 1949 - 1980, Annuity Correspondence, 7/1922 - 10/1941, Leech Lake Reservation Individual Indian Money Ledgers, 1918 - 1942, and Individual Indian Money Case Files, 1922 - 1944 in Record Group 75 that include records regarding annuity payments to members of the Leech Lake Band as well as related financial matters. For more information about these records, please contact the National Archives at Kansas City (RM-KC) at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and pursuant to guidance received from the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), NARA has adjusted its normal operations to balance the need of completing its mission-critical work while also adhering to the recommended social distancing for the safety of NARA staff. As a result of this re-prioritization of activities, you may experience a delay in receiving an initial acknowledgement as well as a substantive response to your reference request from RDT1 and RM-KC. We apologize for this inconvenience and appreciate your understanding and patience.
We suggest that you review the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe website for more information.
We hope this is helpful. Best of luck with your research!
