Dear Mr. Reyes,
Thank you for posting your request on History Hub!
We searched the National Archives Catalog and located the Registers for Star Route Contracts, 1814-1960 in the Records of the Post Office Department (Record Group 28) that may contain information on the Oregon routes. For more information about these records, please contact the National Archives at Washington, DC - Textual Reference (RDT1) at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We also located the Manuscript Postal Route Maps, 1901-1947 and the Published State Postal Route Maps, 1894-1957 in the Records of the Post Office Department (Record Group 28) that includes the file unit titled Oregon, 1917 - 1950, which contains 10 postal maps. For more information about these non-digitized maps, please contact the National Archives at College Park - Cartographic (RDSC) at email@example.com.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and pursuant to guidance received from the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), NARA has adjusted its normal operations to balance the need of completing its mission-critical work while also adhering to the recommended social distancing for the safety of NARA staff. As a result of this re-prioritization of activities, you may experience a delay in receiving an initial acknowledgement as well as a substantive response to your reference request from RDT1 and RDSC. We apologize for this inconvenience and appreciate your understanding and patience.
We hope this is helpful. Best of luck with your research!
Dear Mr. Crumley,
Thank you for your help with my research. This information will be invaluable as I continue to build a picture of Star Routes along the Rogue River.
