Dear Ms. Fenster,
Thank you for posting your request on History Hub!
According to the website for the Village of Williamsville, the park that was constructed in 1976 on the site of the Inferno nightclub was built with funding from a federal grant. If you know or learn which federal agency awarded this grant, we may be able to locate more information about the history of the land on which the park was built.
If you have not done so already, we suggest that you contact the Erie County Historian's Office to see if they can assist you with your inquiries. Local, county, and state historical societies, libraries, and archives may also be able to provide some guidance. The Buffalo History Museum (formerly the Buffalo & Erie County Historical Society) or the New York State Archives may have some useful resources, for example. Contacting relevant departments or libraries of colleges and universities in the area might be another option. For instance, the SUNY Buffalo School of Architecture and Planning supports sites like this historical overview of Glen Park Casino and Amusement Park. Organizations and institutions like these may be able to help direct your search.
We hope this information is helpful. Best of luck with your research!
