Dear Mr. Lech,
Thank you for posting your request on History Hub!
We searched the National Archives Catalog and located the San Bernardino Meridian Field Reports, 1945 - 1960 and the Serialized Land Entry Case Files, 1908 - 1961 of the Los Angeles Land Office in the Records of the Bureau of Land Management (Record Group 49) that may include the application you seek. For more information on these series, please contact the National Archives at Riverside (RW-RS) at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and pursuant to guidance received from the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), NARA has adjusted its normal operations to balance the need of completing its mission-critical work while also adhering to the recommended social distancing for the safety of NARA staff. As a result of this re-prioritization of activities, you may experience a delay in receiving an initial acknowledgement as well as a substantive response to your reference request from RW-RS. We apologize for this inconvenience and appreciate your understanding and patience.
Please check Land Patent Information for heirs of Albert Ford on the Bureau of Land Management website plus the tabs labeled Patent Image and Related Documents, especially the Surveys & Land Status Records (LSR). 1920 Census has occupation as Attorney at law
Hi Alice - thanks so much. Unfortunately, that's not my guy. Albert Hunt Ford died in 1975 and was a prominent attorney in Riverside. My Albert Hunt was dead by 1951, and if my research is correct, he was out on the desert in the 1910s and 20s.
Hi Alice - thanks so much. However, that's the date the patent was granted, not the day it was submitted. I'm looking for when he or his heirs submitted the application.
