        Hi David -

Here are a few places you might try.

Routes to Roots Foundation - A genealogical website for the Ukraine, Poland, Belarus, Lithuania, and Moldova

The State Archival Service of Ukraine has a page on Genealogical Research that might offer some help.

JewishGen also has a Ukraine database that might be of use.

Some of these records might have been translated or put into databases phonetically, transliterating them. Because the Cyrillic alphabet doesn't completely correspond to the Latin one, so a name could be spelled a variety of ways. Russian and Ukrainian are transliterated differently depending on who does the rewriting. It looks like this area of Ukraine was at one time Polish territory and another time part of Austria, so you may run into German or Polish spellings of names as well.

Hope that gives you a starting point!

                      Thank you so much Sergey,

Unfortunately, the relative I am looking for were born much later.  My grandfather was born in 1861 and my father, aunts and uncle were born 1899 to 1917.

My Great Grandfather, Kopul BROTMAN (Brotman), was born around 1836 and my Great, Great Grandfather, Meir Leib BROTMAN (Brotman) was born around 1814.

                      Thanks for everything.
