Seeking images taken by journalists for Stars & Stripes newspaper

    Daniel Gibson Newbie

I am looking for images taken in Vietnam between 1967 and 1972 for the Stars & Stripes newspaper. I want to know if these images are available in the archives and if so, in what quality?

          Dear Mr. Gibson,

Thank you for posting your request on History Hub!

We searched the National Archives Catalog and located 15 records series in various record groups with copies of the Stars and Stripes newspaper. For more information about these records, please contact the National Archives at College Park - Textual Reference (RDT2) via email at Archives2reference@nara.gov.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and pursuant to guidance received from the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), NARA has adjusted its normal operations to balance the need of completing its mission-critical work while also adhering to the recommended social distancing for the safety of NARA staff. As a result of this re-prioritization of activities, you may experience a delay in receiving an initial acknowledgement as well as a substantive response to your reference request from RDT2. We apologize for this inconvenience and appreciate your understanding and patience.

The most complete collection of Stars and Stripes editions and photographs is at the Stars and Stripes Library & Archives. Some of these records have been digitized and made available through the Stars and Stripes Digital Archives. You also may contact the Library and Archive to inquire about editions not yet digitized, or to request information about a specific article. Please see their Archives FAQ for more information.
