Seeking history of the 223rd Quartermaster Battalion

    Henry Jarkowski Newbie

I would like any history of the 223rd QM BN from 1943 to 1946 US Army ETO WWII.  This is my Father's Unit.  I have his DD-214 and Honorable Discharge. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks

          Dear Mr. Jarkowski,

Thank you for posting your request on History Hub!

We searched National Archives Catalog and located the World War II Operations Reports, 1940-1948 in the Records of the Adjutant General's Office, 1917 - 1985 (Record Group 407) that may include records of the 223rd Quartermaster Battalion during WWII. We also located a series titled Unit Histories, 1943 - 1967 in the Records of U.S. Army Operational, Tactical, and Support Organizations (World War II and Thereafter) (Record Group 338) that includes the file units titled 223rd Quartermaster Battalion: Unit History and 223rd Quartermaster Battalion: Historical (Narrative) Report (Incomplete) for the 1940s. For more information about these non-digitized records, please contact the National Archives at College Park - Textual Reference (RDT2) via email at archives2reference@nara.gov
