Dear Mr. Thompson,
Thank you for posting your request on History Hub!
We searched the National Archives Catalog and located the series Unit Histories, 1943-1967 in the Records of U.S. Army Operational, Tactical, and Support Organizations (World War II and Thereafter) (Record Group 338) that includes one file titled 445th Strategic Intelligence (Research and Analysis) Team: Historical Reports from 1951-1952. For more information about these non-digitized records, please contact the National Archives at College Park - Textual Reference (RDT2) via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We also located 3 series of Project Decimal Files from the 1950s in the Records of the Army Staff (Record Group 319) that contain files related to SIRA that may be of interest to you. In addition, the Cross-Reference Card Subject Index to the Project Files, 1953-1956 in Record Group 319 may be helpful. These records have not been digitized. You may contact RDT2 with any questions you might have about these and similar records.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and pursuant to guidance received from the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), NARA has adjusted its normal operations to balance the need of completing its mission-critical work while also adhering to the recommended social distancing for the safety of NARA staff. As a result of this re-prioritization of activities, you may experience a delay in receiving an initial acknowledgement as well as a substantive response to your reference request from RDT2. We apologize for this inconvenience and appreciate your understanding and patience.
Finally, the U.S. Army Heritage & Education Center, 950 Soldiers Drive, Carlisle, PA 17013, has a large collection of published unit histories. Please contact them and the US Army Center of Military History to see if they can offer you any additional assistance.
We hope this information is helpful. Best of luck with your research!
