Trying to identify WWII US Army Chaplain Mentioned in Article

    Binyamin Goldstein Newbie

My great-grandfather grew up in Niederstetten, a small town in Württemberg, Germany. He escaped the Nazi persecution in 1938 and moved to Baltimore.

The _Jewish Encyclopedia_ article on the town mentions that the ritual items from the synagogue were saved throughout the war and were given to a US Army chaplain after the war. Would trying to identify this chaplain be a wild goose chase, or would this be possible since Niederstetten was/is such a small and relatively remote town?

      Thanks so much!
