Of course, these military records would be British because they pre-date the Revolutionary War. Perhaps the Archives of Great Britain? Home - The National Archives
Maine town records have always been the most productive for me for births. I have had good luck with the Sons of the Revolution Library. SAR Library | SAR Genealogical Research Library . There are branches all over the country. I found my info in the Los Angeles chapter.
