Dear Andrew Ryan,
Thank you for posting your question to history hub.
The Federal Government does not ordinarily create or maintain birth, adoption, death, marriage or divorce records. Such records are made and kept by State and local governments rather than the National Archives. We suggest searching substitute record sources such as probate records, church records, and newspaper records that may uncover more information about your family.
We suggest that you contact the office of vital statistics in the county in which you were born for information regarding your birth certificate.
For information regarding your Social Security Card, we recommend contacting the Social Security Administration directly. Here's a helpful link to get you started. https://www.ssa.gov/onlineservices/
We hope this information was helpful.
