Seeking records Westkornheim internment camp for German POWS

    Rebecca Rovit Newbie

Where can I find out more about about internees right after WWII in the  Westkornheim internment camp for German POWS?  I am researching a German family member of someone close to me. The businessman (b. 1898) was arrested by the US Military as a POW in Bitterfeld (Saxony-Anhalt) 1945 right after WWII and interned for 3 years at the Westkornheim internment camp. Where can I find out more about his arrest and internment years?

Finally, the personnel records of World War II German prisoners of war were returned to Germany.  For access to these records, please write to the Bundesarchiv - Abteilung PA, Eichborndamm 179, 13403 Berlin, Germany. The email address is poststelle-pa@bundesarchiv.de.
