It does seem slightly odd how they chose Mississippi as the library location. Perhaps since they're not managed by NARA, their selection process is slightly more involved. The nature of their selection, which is closed to the public because of litigation, it also intriguing.

Grant did have some financial troubles of his own, but he resolved that right before he died by publishing his memoirs. I'd be interested in seeing if they talk anymore about why his papers are there and not in Ohio or anywhere else he lived.

has his Presidential Museum in Dixie of all places that kills me... You
would think that it would be one of, if not the LAST place that he would
want it...
