    Looking for my grandparent's passport application

      They were living in Chicago. It was 1917, and he had accepted a job in South America.  His name is Frank Lawrence Smith.  His wife's name was May and they had a daughter.

          The National Archives and Records Administration holds Passport Application records for 1914-1925 that were submitted to passport offices in Chicago, New York City, New Orleans, San Francisco, and Seattle.


          The records have been digitized and made available online by our partner, Ancestry.com, for a fee. The digitized records on Ancestry.com are available free of charge in all NARA Research Rooms, including those in our regional archives and Presidential Libraries. Ancestry.com may also be free at your local library.
