Dear Mr. Welsh,
Thank you for posting your request on History Hub!
If Mollie Belle Epps was listed on the Dawes final rolls, she should have an enrollment packet. We searched the National Archives Catalog and located the series Applications for Enrollment in the Five Civilized Tribes, 1898 - 1914 in the Records of the Bureau of Indian Affairs (Record Group 75) that contain records that have been digitized and are name-searchable. For copies or access to any non-digitized records, please contact the National Archives at Fort Worth (RM-FW) via email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please see the National Archives Dawes Records: Enrollment and Land Allotment Jackets website for more information.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and pursuant to guidance received from the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), NARA has adjusted its normal operations to balance the need of completing its mission-critical work while also adhering to the recommended social distancing for the safety of NARA staff. As a result of this re-prioritization of activities, you may experience a delay in receiving an initial acknowledgement as well as a substantive response to your reference request from RM-FW. We apologize for this inconvenience and appreciate your understanding and patience.
In addition, please review the History Hub response Seeking names of Cherokee relatives for a previous response to another post that may be useful in your search for Mollie Belle Epps. Lastly, we suggest that you review NARA’s website about Native American Heritage as well as the FamilySearch Research wiki for Indigenous Peoples of the United States Genealogy.
We hope this is helpful. Best of luck with your research!
