We searched the National Archives Catalog and located Orders and Circulars, 1797 - 1910 in the Records of the Adjutant General's Office, 1762 - 1917 (Record Group 94) that may include a copy of the special order. We also located General Jurisdiction Case Files, 1855 - 1945 in the Records of the Court of Claims Section (Justice) (Record Group 205) that may include the judicial order you seek. These records have not been digitized and are not available online. For more information about these records, please contact the National Archives at Washington, DC - Textual Reference (RDT1) via email at Archives1reference@nara.gov. When you contact them, you may wish to attach an image of the records you are referring to and/or provide further information about your ancestor’s name and the organization to which he was assigned.
