Dear Mr. Sparks,
Thank you for posting your request on History Hub!
Until 1820, the U.S. Federal Government did not require captains or masters of vessels to present a passenger list to U.S. officials until 1820. As a general rule, there are no NARA passenger lists of vessels arriving before 1820.
We searched WorldCat and located the books Passenger and immigration lists bibliography, 1538-1900 : being a guide to published lists of arrivals in the United States and Canada that may contain information about William Spark’s immigration. Please check for the nearest library having a copy. Some of the lists from these publications have been digitized and are available on Ancestry. There may be a fee for using Ancestry. Instead, please check for access at your local library as many library systems subscribe to these sites, making them free for their patrons.
In addition, we suggest that you search these web pages: Ships Passenger Lists to USA by Year of Arrival and the Passenger Lists America /USA Arrivals/Maryland
Lastly, we searched online and located the Sparks Family Association OnLine and the Sparks Family Association Quarterly, index that may be useful to your research
We hope this is helpful. Best of luck with your research!
