Dear Ms. Kuminga,
Thank you for posting your request on History Hub!
The National Archives only has custody of records created by the federal government that document Tribal Nations during American nationhood, and even then records are sparse until the mid 19th century. Most Indigenous Peoples were forced to leave South Carolina during the 1700's, when eastern tribes were being displaced by colonial expansion. Since those who remained may have been assimilated into European-American society, they were not documented in the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) records.
We suggest that you contact the National Museum of the American Indian to search their holdings for South Carolina as well as review the FamilySearch Research wiki for Indigenous Peoples of South Carolina and the sites for South Carolina Indian Tribes and South Carolina Indian Tribes and Languages.
We hope this is helpful. Best of luck with your family research!
