Seeking Army enlistment date of husband

I am trying to order a cemetery plaque for my deceased husband.  I have all the information needed except for enlistment date, which would be on DD-214, which I cannot find.  I am ordering his DD-214, but it will probably take weeks to get here.  Is there any other way I can find out what his enlistment date was?

          Dear Ms. Copell,

Thank you for posting your request on History Hub!

If he enlisted during WWII, there is a database available that may include the date of his enlistment. We searched the Access to Archival Databases (AAD) and located the World War II Army Enlistment Records database that include two files with the last name COPELL pertaining to a Raymond Copell and a Thomas Copell.

Unfortunately besides the database mentioned above, we are not aware of any other way of finding an enlistment day. It should be included on your husband’s DD-214 which you have already requested from NARA's National Personnel Records Center (NPRC), (Military Personnel Records), 1 Archives Drive, St. Louis, MO  63138-1002.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, NPRC will continue servicing requests ONLY associated with medical treatments, burials, and homeless veterans seeking admittance to a homeless shelter. If your request is urgent, please see Emergency Requests and Deadlines. Please refrain from submitting non-emergency requests such as replacement medals, administrative corrections, or records research until NPRC returns to pre-COVID staffing levels. Please check archives.gov/veterans for updates to the NPRC operating hours and status.

We apologize for this inconvenience and appreciate your understanding and patience.
