Welcome to History Hub,
What is the writing at the bottom of the photo?
Do you have any clue as to the tribe?
Thanks

1 person found this helpfulDear Corey More,
Thank you for posting your request on History Hub!
To build upon the information from the previous poster, we suggest that you search the Santa Fe Agency (Pueblo Indians) series of the US Indian Census Rolls 1885-1940 for records of Santo Domingo Lucero and his family.
The Santo Domingo Pueblo has been administered by the United Pueblos Agency since 1935. We searched the National Archives Catalog and located 83 series regarding the United Pueblos Agency in the Records of the Bureau of Indian Affairs (Record Group 75) that may contain information about Santo Domingo Lucero. For access and assistance in searching these series, please contact National Archives at Denver (RM-DV) via email at denver.archives@nara.gov,
the National Archives at Riverside (RW-RS) via email at riverside.archives@nara.gov, the National Archives at Kansas City (RM-KC) via email at kansascity.archives@nara.gov or the National Archives at Fort Worth (RM-FW) via email at ftworth.archives@nara.gov, and the National Archives at Washington, DC - Textual Records (RDT1) via email at archives1reference@nara.gov. Please check the series description for the specific unit to contact.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and pursuant to guidance received from the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), NARA has adjusted its normal operations to balance the need of completing its mission-critical work while also adhering to the recommended social distancing for the safety of NARA staff. As a result of this re-prioritization of activities, you may experience a delay in receiving an initial acknowledgement as well as a substantive response to your reference request from RM-DV, RW-RS, RM-KC, RM-FW & RDT1. We apologize for this inconvenience and appreciate your understanding and patience.
We hope this is helpful. Best of luck with your family research!

1 person found this helpfulHi Corey,
This is a photograph from a famous 20 volume set of books by the photographer Edward S. Curtis (http://curtis.library.northwestern.edu/ ). As has already been discussed, all we know is that this man is identified as "Lucero" of the Santo Domingo Pueblo. While there is a great deal of information about the tribe in Curtis's book, it is unlikely that he recorded any personal details about the people he photographed. Unfortunately, Lucero is an extremely common name in New Mexico; without any additional details, doing any genealogy is not really possible.
You can see a little more about this photograph in the digital collections of Northwestern University here
http://curtis.library.northwestern.edu/curtis/info.cgi?id=nai.16.port.0000015.p
The only idea I have is that you can try contacting an archive that has a collection of Curtis' papers. Perhaps he recorded more about his subjects in his papers. Here is a link to an archival description of a collection of his papers held at The University of Washington, Special Collections Library. I think it is a longshot, but you could give it a shot.

If you learn any other details, please let us know. I'd be happy to help.
Thank you,
