Re: Seeking military records for Carl Flood
Elliot Schneider Feb 28, 2021 9:07 AM (in response to Pam Moore)Pam,
I think right now the VA extended mortgages and homes being condemned or individuals loosing the home due to the pandemic. I would suggest contacting the VA and talk to a loan specialist., here is a link below.

Pam Moore Feb 28, 2021 10:37 PM (in response to Elliot Schneider)Actually, the home he had through the VA was sold a while ago. But, her home she is in now is a rental and she has been trying to get into Metropolitan housing and they are wanting proof of his military for her to be able to get housing now. And they are only giving her 4 weeks to prove it. Otherwise she will wait another year and she will be homeless for sure because her money is almost gone now.

Did you try reaching out to the funeral home, they have his discharge papers if he received a headstone from the VA or military burial. You can also check with the county that he lived in to see if he ever recorded his discharge papers with county veterans service office or county recorder.

Re: Seeking military records for Carl Flood
Pam Moore Mar 2, 2021 11:38 PM (in response to Elliot Schneider)He didn't receive any military accommodations when he passed. He was cremated. Not sure what county to check for VA records. If we went to the one in Columbus, would they have record of him if he didn't record it there? Thanks for those ideas.
