Seeking a Greek Sailor near Alabama

Hi. I'm trying to find any information on ships that came from or near Greece to Alabama in February/March 1946. My mother never knew her birth father, she was just told he was a sailor on a Greek ship. Any insight or information would be greatly appreciated.

We suggest that you search local newspaper archives for mention of a foreign ship near Alabama during your timeframe. Please check for access at your local library as many library systems subscribe to these sites, making them free for their patrons. We also suggest that you contact the Alabama State Port Authority to inquire about Harbormaster reports from that timeframe.
