Do you have any additional information on the individual such as a DOB or any other family? Just looking for George W. White in 1860 there were about 20 or so individuals with the Name George W. White living in Kentucky at that time. Seems like a very common name. Anything additional you can provide would be helpful.

We searched the National Archives Catalog and located the series Carded Records Showing Military Service of Soldiers Who Fought in Volunteer Organizations During the American Civil War in the Records of the Adjutant General's Office, 1762 - 1917 (Record Group 94) that includes 38 files for soldiers from Kentucky named “White, George”, 14 of which are for George W. White and 18 of which do not specify the middle initial.
We also located the series Enlistment Papers, 1798 - October 31, 1912; Registers of Enlistments in the United States Army, 1798 - 1914; and Registers of Deaths in the Regular Army, 1860 - 1889 in Record Group 94 that document service and death in the Regular Army. The Enlistment papers are not available online. The Registers of Enlistment have been digitized and are available on Fold3 as Army Register of Enlistments, 1798-1914; on Ancestry as U.S. Army, Register of Enlistments, 1798-1914; and on FamilySearch as United States Registers of Enlistments in the U.S. Army, 1798-1914. The Registers of Deaths are available on Ancestry at U.S., Registers of Deaths in the Regular Army, 1860-1889.
Next, we located and Carded Records Showing Military Service of Soldiers Who Fought in Confederate Organizations , 1903 - 1927 in the War Department Collection of Confederate Records (Record Group 109) that includes the digitized file [Kentucky] White, George - Age [Blank], Year: 1863 - Fifth Cavalry, Ro-Y.
Additionally, we located Court Martial Case Files, 12/1800 - 10/1894 in the Records of the Office of the Judge Advocate General (Army) (Record Group 153) that includes files of for a May 1865 court martial of White, George W. -- Private, Kentucky - 1st Artillery as well as a Papers Relating to Citizens, 1861 - 1867 in Record Group 109 that includes a file for White, George W - State: Kentucky - Year: 1863.
